Ok, so yes, I am one of THOSE people. One of those nutty people that takes pleasure in cleaning my house. There is just something magickal to me about cleaning up. I find things that I forgot I had, find things that are better off going to Goodwill (or sometimes just to the trash), I love the smell of my Hawaiian Aloha Mr. Clean and the Lavender Bleach I use in the bathrooms, but most of all I love the spiritual peace I feel when I finally sit down and everything is how it should be.
I guess this could be summed up as I love to "fix" a messy situation. While cleaning my house today, I realized that this applies not only to my house, but my personal/spiritual life as well.
I've noticed lately that people in my life tend to ask me for advice frequently when they have a "mess" that needs cleaned. From something as simple as a video game, to advice on children, to advice on what to do after they don't have a place to call home anymore. And I always try, to the best of my ability, to give the best advice I can. I haven't heard any complaints, so hopefully I'm doing something right.
Now, don't get me wrong, I truly do enjoy helping people, and this is NOT a rant! But there are some people that go above and beyond my limits. I really do NOT enjoy getting a text or call from someone every 5 minutes. I, too have a life, and a very busy one at that. I can't be a problem-solver everytime; what and how does a person learn if they don't figure out some things for themselves? So, many times, especially recently, I have ignored a few texts and phone calls. I can be a problem-solver, but I am NOT a miracle worker. People sometimes have to learn their own lessons, they made their bed and they can lay in it.
That said, it makes me think, if I can keep my house ship-shape, what about my personal life? I think sometimes that it may be healthy to "clean house". To let go of what you don't need anymore...that could be drama, stress, sadness, anger, impatience, or a host of any other "junk" we've accumulated over the years (and occasionally the people that cause it).
Take and minute and think; what are your first thoughts? Is it a to-do list? Is it the arguement/drama that you are dealing with? Is it sadness or hecticness? Worry? Push those thoughts out of your mind and into the earth to be reformed as beauty and love and peace. Feel those emotions flowing into you from the love of the Earth Mother. Take a moment and revel in the feeling of bliss, knowing for that moment YOU are all that matters for a little while. We all need self-love and positive self-esteem. We all need time for US and us alone.
Enjoy! And have fun "cleaning house"!
Blessings,
J. Leonhardt
